Ask me anything

Waiting for Love

I always speak of love

The kind my heart desires

But the bitter truth is

I’ve never been in love

Every poem I write

Every song I sing

Is about how I’ll feel

When my love is for real

2 Corinthians 5:13

If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.

Live each day boldly! Do everything that seems crazy!

Competence

This morning, I read through 2 Corinthians 1-3. A few things that popped out at me that showed me how I can act differently. I always worry about leading worship or playing in a coffee house because I don’t want to appear conceited, prideful, or boastful. I honestly have nothing to boast about, other than Christ. Maybe this is why I have no confidence in anything I do or the way I look because I want Christ to get all the glory. But that mindset often has an opposite effect, because then I become miserable and dissapointed in myself knowing I will never be good enough.

I found comfort in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in ALL our troubles, so that we can comfort THOSE in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves recieve from God.” I have to recieve love from God, so I can disperse ti to other people who need it most.

My conviction came from 2 Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence cames from God.” I realized its ok to be confident when I am leading worship or performing in a coffee house, because God’s glory shines through when I do those things. I can be confident in my school work and all the “B’s” I get, because I work hard and that is the best I can do, even when I lean on God’s strength.

I realize now that confidence and boasting are two different things.
